Hi! Welcome to my quirky lil Macrame shop! I finally have a place online after selling Macrame for a whopping 4 years! Now on to share my Art journey.
To put it blunt... I ALMOST DIED. I was hit by a Semi and have ever since suffered from PTSD there I said it. The first thing I ever found that brought me peace was watching videos of people making Macrame which I did for months. One day I finally decided I was ready to try it myself and honestly it changed my life when it comes to how I see myself. As a child I never saw myself as an artist... I was an ideas person... but never considered artistically inclined... so I and many teachers wrote me off as "not artistic." (Which is so funny as I see so many parallels between that and my journey into tech & cybersecurity but thats a story for another day). Discovery Macrame made me realize that the whole idea of "not being artistic/creative" is complete and utter bullshit. WE ARE ALL CREATIVE AND ART HEALS! This is what Sonoran Fibers is all about. <3
So why the name Sonoran Fibers?
I grew up in the Sonoran desert and feel that in every fiber of my being. (PUN INTENDED) My mom's family has lived in the Sonoran desert for hundreds of years and Macrame is a Fiber Art, That's it!
